School Services offered are:

  • Kilometre-Based Service to Ingleside State Primary School from Upper Tallebudgera Valley

  • Kilometre-Based Services from Tallebudgera to many schools

  • Privately Chartered Services to St Andrews Lutheran College

The general public are welcome to use the Services, but please note that neither service runs during school holidays.

Subsidies on bus fares, for school students travelling on our Services, may be available from Queensland Transport & Main Roads, subject to criteria, which include distance or income.  Bus Pass information can be found below.

Bus Pass Information

When applying for a Bus Pass, application forms need to be completed then signed and lodged online.

Bus Passes remain the property of Koala Koaches and must be returned to the driver or our office at the end of their eligibility period.

Bus passes must be kept in a legible condition. Lost or Damaged Passes can be replaced at the cost of $17.50.

School Transport Assistance - TMR subsidies

Queensland Transport and Main Roads = TMR

Each new Pass Application must include one TMR Form per family.

To complete the Travel Assistance form follow this link to the TMR website. Forms must be completed online.

Any changes including address, school, grade or frequency of travel, require a new TMR Form application.

Passengers who travel on Routes 106 & 881 & 882 & 883 may apply for subsidy towards their fares, using the following eligibility criteria.

Subsidy will only be paid from one address, which must be the principal place of residence of the student’s parent or guardian and this address must be the one that the student is enrolled at their school by.

Students are only eligible to receive assistance on the designated bus service for their area. A minimum frequency of 20% travel or more per week is required to receive assistance. Applications can only be accepted for the current school year. All distances are measured by TMR.

Students from overseas, interstate or on student exchange programs are not eligible to apply. TAFE students are not eligible to apply.

Rollover Passes

When a new school year begins, passengers who held a valid Pass the previous year and are only rolling over to the next grade within their primary school or high school will be rolled over automatically, at the start of the school year.  

Bus Travel Assistance (BTA) eligibility criteria

Students must be enrolled at an approved school. State Primary School students must live more than 3.2 km, by the shortest trafficable route, from the nearest state primary school. Non-State Primary School students must live more than 3.2 km, by the shortest trafficable route, from both the nearest state primary school and non-state primary school of the type attended – e.g. Catholic. State Secondary School students must live more than 4.8 km, by the shortest trafficable route, from the nearest state secondary school. Non-State Secondary School students must live more than 4.8 km, by the shortest trafficable route, from both the nearest state secondary school and non-state secondary school of the type attended – e.g. Catholic.

Bus Travel Assistance Safety Net (SN) eligibility criteria

Students must be enrolled at an approved school and reside close to their nearest school and be listed on the Applicant’s Centrelink issued Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card or Department of Veteran Affairs Pensioner Concessioner Card or who have a card issued in their own name, as well as students under a Care and Protection Order, issued by the Department of Child Safety. The student must not receive any other assistance from the School Transport Assistance Scheme.

Non-State Primary School students must live less than 3.2 km, by the shortest trafficable route, from both the nearest state primary school and non-state primary school of the type attended – e.g. Catholic. St Andrews Lutheran College- private route passengers

Passengers must have an electronic Fob, to scan when embarking and disembarking the bus each journey. These are available from the College office only. Private route passengers - are not eligible to apply for subsidy with TMR .

Lost or Illegible Bus Passes

Bus passes must be kept in a legible condition. A Replacement Pass costs $17.50.
